Dwarven armor
For this tattoo, I tried to blend elements of the fantasy world, mythology and medieval occultism together.
It all comes from an idea of Alessandro, both clear and ambitious at the same time, to try to merge together Yggdrasill, the pivotal tree of Norse cosmology, a dragon and a wolf to form an armor worthy of a dwarf!
Inside this work there are a lot of different elements, for the composition I was inspired a lot by the work of Alan Lee I stole the knots that make up the main elements from the hilt of a Viking sword found in Norway, but reworking them and I filled the geometries that make up the scales of the armor with kennings from medieval grimoires.

The kennings are ancient rhetorical figures that were used in sagas and Norse poems, poetic phrases that use a figurative language to replace the name of something...
For example, "sword sleep" was used to indicate death or "glory of the elves" for the sun.
The story of this tattoo is very personal, born from the passions of Alessandro, whom I thank infinitely for having entrusted his arm to me for such an original and stimulating project!
